LOSSES & RECOVERY

Did a trade go bad and you ended up losing money? This can happen to anyone in the market. Have you ever thought how much money you would need to make to be back in profit or to break even? The bear market of 2018 caused BTC to drop from an all-time high of 20K to 3K. That's around 80% of losses. Altcoins performed worse shedding about 90% of value across the market.

If you lost 50% on a trade most investors and traders think they will just need another 50% to be back on top. That is completely wrong the real gains needed is 100%. See the chart below and keep these in mind. Once you start digging yourself into a hole it's almost impossible to climb out. That is why Stop Loss is very important for traders. Happy trading.

Losses Recovery Needed
5% 5.3%
10% 11.1%
15% 17.6%
20% 25%
25% 33%
30% 42.9%
40% 66.7%
50% 100%
60% 150%
75% 300%
90% 900%

Hi here is the formula used to calculate [1 / (1 - % Loss)] - 1 simply put take 1 divide it by 1 minus the loss and subtract 1 and you get the value. For example for 10% loss you take [1/ (1- .10) -1 you get [1/ (.9) -1] answer 11%
