A lack of incentives for developers to work on open source projects leads to failure of many open-source projects.
FundRequest uses Blockchain technology and smart contracts to build a decentralized platform that benefits both suppliers and customers of open source development.
For Example, the requesting organization (funder) allocates funds to an open source issue. These funds are stored in a smart contract, which acts as an escrow to incentivize parties to act in good faith. The smart contract will eventually distribute the funds after a set of predetermined conditions is met. Once the open source issue is funded, the developer (solver) can select it. Since he also needs to have skin in the game to avoid malicious behaviour, he is required to stake funds proportionally to the value of the funded issue.
The developer then solves the issue and claims the reward. The smart contract settles the transaction.
The first implementation of FundRequest will be into GitHub. The Open-Source Community is growing and solving these particular problem is a very good use-case for Blockchain technology.
The team is made up of professionals in their respective areas with full LinkedIn profiles. Code on GitHub is strong
and there is an MVP.
FundRequest will go live in this Quartal, and has already formed partnerships with Request Network, SingularityNET and dock.io.
With the MVP working well and the launch in this Quartal, i think FND will be a good performer in the market.
This is one of the few projects that is already evolved past Whitepaper-Phase and it has a legitimate use-case for the use of Blockchain and for an integrated token. Also the Marketcap is very low, so it has a lot of room to grow.
